Lord Jesus, we are drowning and laid bare,
With evil’s destructive forces raging on…
The suffering and tragedy of our times,
With roaring waves of lies and deceit,
Continue to weigh heavily upon us!
Come to us now we beg you!
Meet us once more at the Jordan River,
Show us the way of profound humility…
For you have stooped down to us,
And restored our shattered dignity.
You came down to be baptized,
With purifying life giving water…
You entered our human condition,
Thus, healing our wounded humanity
With your outpouring love and mercy!
Come Lord Jesus, meet us anew,
By the watersides of our life’s journey,
Quench our thirst, bless our dry river beds,
With crystal clear springs of hope and joy,
For you alone is the fountain of all Life!
Spirit of Ruah, come and save us!
Free us from the snares of the devil,
Renew us with your divine spark,
Lead us to true conversion of hearts,
For we are children of our Abba God!
