Meanne M. Mijares
In a little town called Bethlehem a baby named Jesus
Wrapped in swaddling clothes was born to a virgin named Mary
While His mother and foster father Joseph
Gazing sweetly at Him, He smiled, closed His eyes and started to dream
He dreamed of a world without war, vice, hunger, sin and strife
A world without indifference, discrimination and hostility, only peace, understanding and harmony
Where people regardless of race, color, height and persuasion come together to protect and save life
It matters not what language they speak to express what and how they feel
As long as what’s in their hearts are nothing but real
He dreamed of a world full of love, trust and respect
A world where people, before they act often reflect
A world where honesty and kindness, justice and mercy supremely reign in the hearts of everyone
His mission is accomplished, His work is done
He woke up from His dream and smiled
His mother carrying Him, with the shepherds and the Magi side by side
Inviting them to be part of Jesus’ dream and that includes you and me too
He needs us all to make His dream come true
Let Him use and raise our voices
And guide us in making the right choices
From the time of His birth
To build His kingdom here on earth.
