Hunger and thirst will always be there.
Sickness and pain will always be there.
Joys and sorrows will always be there.
Of our minds and bodies mortal, the maladies are always there.
But God too, will always be there!
Fallen leaves in the garden,
and the work of sweeping it up will always be there.
Broken rafters and leaking roofs,
and the work of fixing it up will always be there.
Garbage, effort’s waste and wounded memories,
and the work of cleaning it up will always be there.
The cycle of life continues, an endless frustration of building and rebuilding.
But God too, will always be there!
Work and traffic,
the drudgery of survival will always be there.
Demanding bosses and intrigue,
the struggle of keeping our sanity will always be there.
Temptations and unfulfilled dreams,
the aspiration to be someone will always be there.
Oh, the labors we exert just to exist!
But God too, will always be there!
Worries, problems and complaints,
the thought of ending our lives now will always be there.
Greed and pride, crime and corruption,
the thought of ending someone else’s life will always be there.
Passion and fighting to be good,
the thought of giving our life for someone will always be there.
Death,
and the thought of giving our life for nothing will always be there.
But God too, will always be there!
Politics and economics will always be there.
Taxes and evasion will always be there.
War and poverty will always be there.
Injustice and addiction will always be there.
A world in strife, living on the brink of its own destruction, will always be there.
But in every descent into turmoil, the ascent of heroes will always be there.
People who live in the integrity of the Word, will always be there.
People who strive for love and peace, will always be there.
People who suffer selflessly will always be there.
In praise and gratitude for the God who is always there!
